Commitment Ceremony or Same Sex Ceremony: Commitment ceremonies typical take place between same sex couples; the ceremony follows the same general format as a wedding. There are no legal requirements at the present time, although the Australian Commitment Ceremony register is available for recording same sex marriages at a cost of $75.
